Girl Reading Book

What if Wildwood were more than two days a week?

Wildwood Curiosity Studio is designed for homeschooling families who want something wonderful to add to the education they're already providing.

Wildwood Community School would be something different.

Welcome to Wildwood Community School

A small, four-day K–8 private school built around a simple idea:

Children don't all learn the same things at the same time just because they're the same age.

Students would still belong to traditional grade levels for records and community.

But in foundational subjects like reading, writing, and math, instruction would meet children where they actually are, and move them forward as they demonstrate mastery.

Your child would still have a grade. They just wouldn't be confined by it.

Morning = Skills
Afternoon = Wildwood

Mornings would focus on strong academic foundations: literacy, writing, and mathematics taught in small groups according to readiness and mastery.

Afternoons would open up.

Science experiments. Deep dives into history. Great books. Art and music. House challenges. Building things. Making things. Going outside. Interesting guests. Long conversations.

Projects that take over the room for weeks.

And... occasionally abandoning the plan because somebody asked a really good question.

Kid Standing on Bench

We want enough structure for children to thrive—and enough breathing room for something magical to happen.

Wildwood wouldn't eliminate worksheets, quizzes, tests, or grades simply because they're traditional.

We'd utilize them when they're useful.

A test isn't the only way a child can demonstrate understanding. A student might also build something, write something, solve a problem, create a presentation, participate in a discussion, teach a concept, design an experiment, or put on a play.

The tool serves the learning. The learning doesn't serve the tool.

Small on purpose.

Wildwood Community School would be deliberately small, relationship-driven and a little unconventional.

We aren't trying to recreate a large traditional school in miniature.

We're imagining a place where teachers know their students well, children of different ages learn from one another, curiosity is taken seriously, academic expectations remain high, and there is still room in the school day for childhood.

Wildwood Community School is not yet an announced program. We're currently exploring family interest, facilities, staffing, and what it would take to build the school thoughtfully from the beginning.

If this sounds like the kind of school you've been looking for, we'd love to hear from you.

Could Wildwood Community Schoolbe right for your family?

We're currently measuring interest as we explore whether to move forward. Tell us a little about your family and what you'd realistically consider.
