Accessibility Statement
Nature of the Environment
Wildwood is a hands-on, mixed-material, living environment that includes:
-
Glass terrariums and aquariums
-
Living plants and ecosystems
-
Natural materials (soil, water, sand, etc.)
-
Tools and delicate studio equipment
Because of this, participation requires a level of body awareness, self-regulation, and respect for the environment.
Accessibility & Participation Limits
We strive to include as many children as possible and will make reasonable accommodations when appropriate.
However, Wildwood Curiosity Studio is not equipped to support:
-
Children who require constant one-on-one supervision or intervention
-
Children with severe behavioral challenges that impact safety
-
Children whose needs may pose a risk to themselves, other participants, or the studio environment
-
Situations requiring specialized therapeutic, medical, or behavioral support beyond our staffing capacity
If your child has specific needs, we welcome a conversation prior to enrollment to determine if Wildwood is a good and safe fit.
Behavior & Safety Expectations
To protect the safety of all participants and the integrity of the studio, the following expectations are required:
Children must be able to:
-
Move safely within the space (no running or rough movement)
-
Handle materials, tools, and living elements with care and respect
-
Follow directions and respond to guidance from instructors
-
Maintain safe emotional regulation, even when frustrated
Not Permitted:
-
Throwing objects (including tools, materials, or containers)
-
Damaging or intentionally disrupting studio environments (terrariums, aquariums, displays, etc.)
-
Aggressive or unsafe behavior toward others
Impulse Control & Emotional Safety
Because our studio includes fragile and living elements, impulse control is essential.
Children who:
-
Struggle significantly with impulsive actions
-
Become physically reactive when frustrated
-
Have difficulty maintaining safe boundaries
may not be a safe fit for this environment at this time.
Studio Rights
Wildwood Curiosity Studio reserves the right to:
-
Pause or remove a child from an activity if safety becomes a concern
-
Dismiss a participant if behavior consistently jeopardizes safety or the environment
-
Determine, at our discretion, whether the studio is an appropriate fit for a child
Partnership with Families
We believe the best experiences happen when families and instructors work together.
By enrolling, families agree to:
-
Share relevant behavioral, emotional, or medical information
-
Support studio expectations and reinforce them at home
-
Partner with us to ensure a safe and positive experience for all
